Ages 9 to 12
Workshop II is an adventure: the adventure of getting to know yourself, of finding yourself in others and with others, and of understanding your place in the world. Through the programs of the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC), combined with the pedagogy of Maria Montessori, children embark on a journey. A journey in which they discover history, numbers, letters, mathematics, civilizations and everything needed to understand their structure, their way of being and to value the contribution of those who came before, as well as their own and that of their families and those around them.
Along with the content itself, we develop skills that will help them become the adults they wish to be. We reflect, analyze, compare, classify and test their ideas, challenging them to surpass themselves every day. And achieving these skills through effort and sustained work over time is one of our main goals.
Children learn that it does not matter how many times they make mistakes or how many times they have to start over; what matters is getting up and continuing with perseverance toward the goal they have set for themselves. We want to shape autonomous, independent children with critical thinking, who are able to contribute to justice and who can be a valuable contribution to the society of the future.
Schedule
The Workshop II schedule is designed to offer students a day of approximately 4 to 5 hours, combining academic activities with personal and artistic development. Mornings begin with a group line, followed by classes in key subjects such as mathematics, language, sciences, history and geography.
Students also participate in metacognition activities, autonomous personal work and art, English and physical education workshops. Afternoons include specific blocks for geometry and other complementary subjects. Strategic breaks are integrated to ensure that students maintain a balanced rhythm and can make the most of each session.
